What the CSV gives you

One row per invoice, in the same columns whatever the supplier's layout, so files from different suppliers stack into one sheet:

  • Vendor, Invoice #, Date, Total and Currency, as printed on the invoice.
  • Line Items Count: how many lines were read.
  • Validation Status and Warning Severity: whether the lines, subtotal, tax and total agree with each other, and how much a disagreement matters.
  • Confidence: how sure the reading is, so you know which rows to check first.

The line items

Every line is in the Excel file: description, quantity, unit price, tax and line total, on its Line Items sheet. To get the lines as a CSV, open that sheet and save it as CSV. The PDF invoice to Excel guide walks through the same job by hand and with IPP.

Checked before you import it

A CSV goes straight into another system, so a wrong total travels with it. Before you download, the result says in plain words whether the invoice adds up, and where it doesn't: "The lines are €1.00 off the subtotal", or the line that is off and what it should be. It tells you the invoice disagrees with itself; it cannot tell you whether a rate is the one you agreed to. See how the reading scores on the benchmark.

Questions

What's in the CSV?

One row per invoice, with the columns Vendor, Invoice #, Date, Total, Currency, Confidence, Line Items Count, Validation Status and Warning Severity. Validation Status is the result of the math check, for example valid or mismatch.

Can I get the line items as a CSV?

Yes, through the Excel file. It has a Line Items sheet with the invoice number, vendor, line number, description, quantity, unit price, tax and line total. Open that sheet and save it as CSV: in Excel, File, Save As, CSV; in Google Sheets, File, Download, CSV, which saves the sheet you are on.

Is it really free?

Yes. Convert up to 3 invoices a day with no account and no card. The first download goes straight through; on the second we ask where to send your file, and "Not now" still downloads it. A free workspace gives you 25 invoices a month.

What files can I use?

A PDF, scanned or digital, or a photo as JPG or PNG. One invoice at a time, up to 10 MB. On a phone, tap the box and take a photo of the invoice.

How long do you keep my file?

Seven days. We keep the invoice and its files for 7 days so you can save them to a free workspace, then delete them automatically. If you create a workspace in the same browser, the invoice moves into it and stays.
