What an invoice math checker cannot catch

Fictional invoice · narrated explanation · English captions · about 92 seconds

Correct arithmetic can coexist with a wrong agreed rate. A fictional invoice charges four hours at USD 75.00, while a separate agreement says USD 60.00. Learn which checks belong to the invoice itself and which require outside evidence. IPP's standalone checker does not verify agreed rates, delivery, prior payment or fraud.

1. Everything can add up and still need review

This fictional invoice has correct arithmetic. Four hours at seventy five dollars total three hundred. But a separate fictional agreement says sixty dollars per hour. The arithmetic on the invoice cannot establish which rate was agreed. A clean math result would leave that commercial question unresolved.

2. The agreement provides different evidence

Using the separate agreement, four hours at sixty dollars total two hundred forty. Compared with the three hundred dollar invoice, the difference is sixty dollars. That calculation depends on evidence outside the invoice. The standalone checker has no basis for verifying that agreement just by reading this document.

3. Know which questions need another check

Other questions also need separate evidence. Was the work performed? Did the goods arrive? Was this invoice already paid? Is it fraudulent? The standalone math checker does not answer those questions. A workspace can flag potential duplicates against its invoice history, but a flag is still a signal for human review.

4. Use arithmetic as part of the review

Use arithmetic checking as one part of your review. Download the fictional example and its calculated answer, then compare what the reader returns with the source. This educational video does not show a live extraction. Follow up on any question requiring an agreement, delivery record or payment history before you act.
