Veryfi vs Mindee: which invoice OCR API should you build on?
Pick Veryfi if you are building receipt and invoice capture into a product and want a free tier of 100 documents a month, mobile capture SDKs, a price per document rather than per page ($0.16 an invoice on Starter, above a $500 monthly minimum), and add-ons such as fraud and duplicate detection. Pick Mindee if you want a lower paid entry point (Starter from $53 a month billed annually, as shown on 4 October 2026), a template-free API whose fields you define yourself, and pricing by the page with a 14-day trial instead of a free tier.
We make InvoiceParser Pro, a third product, and say where it fits below. Every fact about Veryfi and Mindee was read on its maker’s own website on 4 October 2026, and neither was tested hands-on. How we compared.

Veryfi in short
Veryfi sells OCR APIs for invoices, receipts, checks and statements, and mobile capture SDKs, to developers building document capture into their own products. Its invoice API returns line items, vendor, tax and totals as JSON with scores and bounding boxes, and can flag documents that were altered or duplicated.
Pricing is per document sent to the API, whatever its page count up to 15 pages, with a free tier of 100 documents a month and a $500 monthly minimum on the paid Starter plan.
Pick Veryfi if
- You are building capture into a mobile app and want Veryfi’s camera SDKs.
- Your documents run to several pages, so a per-document price beats a per-page one.
- Altered or duplicated receipts and invoices are a risk you need flagged.

Mindee in short
Mindee is an OCR API for developers. Its invoice model captures totals, dates, taxes, supplier details and line items from any layout, and you can shape the schema to the fields you need. It also reads receipts, IDs, passports, bank statements and other documents.
Plans are sold by credit volume, where one page is one credit (1.5 with a confidence score). Starter has one seat; Pro unlocks unlimited seats and live chat support; Enterprise is an annual contract from 500,000 credits.
Pick Mindee if
- You want a paid plan well below a $500 monthly minimum.
- You want to define your own extraction schema rather than take a fixed one.
- Your documents are mostly one page, so paying by the page is predictable.
The differences that matter
Per document or per page
Veryfi charges per document sent to the API, up to 15 pages, so a long invoice costs the same as a short one. Mindee charges per page, and half a credit more per page with a confidence score. Multi-page invoices favour Veryfi; short documents at low volume favour Mindee’s smaller plans.
Free tier or trial
Veryfi’s free plan processes up to 100 documents a month for as long as you like, but its paid Starter plan begins at a $500 monthly minimum. Mindee has no free plan, only a 14-day trial, and its paid plans start far lower.
What comes with the extraction
Veryfi adds mobile capture SDKs and paid add-ons for fraud and duplicate detection, classification and product details. Mindee adds a customisable schema, confidence scores and utilities for splitting and classifying documents. Neither offers approvals or a push into accounting software from the API itself.
How we compared
- Every fact about Veryfi and Mindee (what each does, its published prices, plans and limits) was read on that vendor’s own website on 4 October 2026. The pages are listed under Sources below. Review sites and other comparisons were not used as sources.
- Neither product was tested hands-on for this page: nothing here measures how well either reads documents, and neither vendor’s own accuracy claims are repeated. Where a vendor does not publish a price or a feature, the page says “not published” or “not described” rather than guessing.
- We make InvoiceParser Pro, so it appears only as a third option, marked as ours, with its limits. Its facts come from its own pricing page and its published benchmark: 181 synthetic test documents run through live production on 3 October 2026, where 96.1% of documents had every key header field right. The method and every miss are on the accuracy benchmark page; it is our test set, not your documents, and it is not compared with any other vendor’s figures.
- Prices and features change. Confirm them with the vendor before you buy, and if something here is out of date, tell us at support@invoiceparserpro.com and we will correct it.

InvoiceParser Pro is a finished invoice-processing app, not a developer API first: its REST API is on the Scale plan. Consider it only if you are automating your own company’s supplier invoices rather than building a product.
